Secend Semester...

...is in full swing! Well, we've been back for a full week and already enjoyed a long weekend. The holiday Monday was very much needed already though! I have a presentation and paper with 10 sources due in less than a week and enough projects, other papers, reading, and assignments to keep me more than busy!

We had a great weekend and yesterday marked 3 weeks!! Half done... 3 more weeks for a total of 6 and the cast will be ready to come off! Having only one fully functional arm has made school interesting so far, let's just say it adds an extra challenge ;) ( I am ready for it to be off now.... so we'll just see if I make it 3 more weeks! ).

The Rest of the Story

I'm not a medical person, but from what they told me I can make a little sense of these

She came in and said, "you broke your wrist!" then explained that the radius (thumb side bone) was fractured and the ulna (smaller bone on the right) had a compression fracture.

So as far as I can tell, the dark lines you can see there are the fractures (or breaks) and the compression fracture of the ulna is why it is so far away from the rest of the wrist bones. With all the swelling my wrist looked pretty interesting. The snowboarding fall itself wasn't that bad, just shouldn't have reached back to catch myself!

We got to take a quick tour of the GC and DC right away when we got there, thanks to Uncle Kenny our personal tour guide!

The car broke down, ended up spending about 24 hours in Washington, PA and 8 hours at an outdoor mall while waiting for the car.

Monday night, finally on the road again we decided to have a nice meal in Columbus, OH.

You know you're back in the mid-west, and getting closer to home when the rest areas are shaped like a barn and silo! It was a GREAT week, but so good to be home! Now, about 4 days to rest up and then it's back to school!

We made it out here to the east coast and were blessed with wonderful weather and driving conditions.Spring Break last year

December - Where has 2010 gone!?

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!! I've been enjoying Christmast break to the fullest!! Fun in the snow, family, friends, painting my room, and way, way, way too much GOOD FOOD :) Tomorrow I leave to go Snowboarding in the black hills and then off to Baltimore, MD! :) I will keep you updated along the way :) God Bless!

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving!! I am so thankful for break and the chance to be home with family and friends! We left Lincoln on Friday right after I finished an unappreciated Chemistry test and have been basking in the joy of no school ever since. I have a few pictures to walk you through break so far, sorry I haven't posted in so long, but I will try to do better and share more pictures real soon!

I got to bring one of my good friends Kayla home with me since she wasn't going to be able to go to her home for thanksgiving. It's been a blast having her here!!

Mindy has a fun little app on her ipod called "old booth" and it's fun to jump into a time machine and try on some "oldies hair-doos"

Mindy got a new camera just like mine and has been taking some great pitures, so I got to be on the other side of one of our little photo-shoots for the first time!!

Yesterday we braved the cold and I got to take Chris and Chelsea's engagement pictures!! had a ton of fun and will share some more when I finish them.

Education Trip

We're in Valentine, NE on a field trip for one of my education classes.

We're teaching at Rosebud elementary school; it has been a blast! I don't have enough sides because half my kindergarten class wants to sit beside me at lunch!! ..... And being called "Teacher!" .....priceless!

Several of my classmates were VERY excited to add SD to their list of states visited... I took the picture for them because... well the welcome to SD sign isn't such a rare sight to me. :p
